Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I get quantity discounts?
A:
Yes. We have several price structures, including but not limited to, less than ten rolls a year, 10 to 50 rolls a year, and over 50 rolls.

Q: Can I become a stocking dealer of Playfield products?
A:
Yes. We encourage larger companies such as lumber yards, landscape suppliers, pool suppliers, and home product warehouses to stock our products and then resell them to not only the public at MSRP, but also to local landscapers, home developers and municipalities at our dealer prices. Stocking dealers are able to make a substantial profit reselling our products.

Q: Does Playfield install turf?
A:
Playfield is not in the business to install synthetic turf but we can help train your staff to do it.

Q: I've been hearing about lead in turf, is your turf safe?
A:
Yes, our line of turf is Lead Safe as they are made with Polyethylene and not nylon. We strive to keep ahead of our competitors by going above and beyond what is required when it comes to government regulations for lead.

Q: How do I learn to install synthetic turf?
A:
We provide written instructions, in English and Spanish, and may have installation seminars occasionally depending on interest.

Q: Does synthetic turf expand and/or contract with varying temperatures?
A:
Yes. As with most carpet or concrete products, turf expands and contracts with cold and hot temperatures. Larger continuous installed areas are more affected by this. Nail boards are suggested for large applications. Please contact us for more information as the amount of allowances for this vary by product and size of installation.

Q: What does the weight of Synthetic Turf mean?
A:
Weight of the turf was designed to mean the turf without any backing (tuft only) for a square yard of material. However, some companies include some of the backing or all of the backing, and even highly inflate the weight factor. Some of our turf at 50oz. is heavier than some competitors' who claim their product is 80 oz. Don’t be confused, get a sample kit, then compare other brands and you will find Playfield USA turf is the best turf available, at the best price available.

Q: Should I use an all rubber infill, silica sand infill or a combination?
A:
Playfield leaves that decision up to the installer and homeowner. However, we do not recommend rubber infill for landscape synthetic turf. We recommend acrylic coated sand for that application. We have found rubber infill to be best for athletic fields. Silica sand also works and you do not want any sand that has rough edges as it can damage the turf fibers if a lot of traffic is on the grass. However, many installers choose to install our turf without infill and customers are still happy with the results.

Q: Where do I purchase infill from?
A:
Silica sand is sold as play sand in home improvement centers. Acrylic coated sand is sold as a pallet load only (60 - 50lb bags). Please contact us for that pricing information.
